Competition
Register members are encouraged to compete in their Dellows and in 2012 the Ron Lowe Challenge was launched as a multi – disciplinary challenge.
The Ron Lowe Challenge Cup
Members can gain points by competing in a variety of events.
The annual Dellow Register championship for the Ron Lowe Challenge Cup will be based on competition in MCC classic events and any other competitive events entered by a member in a Dellow, or the 2 Dellow Replicas. The bias is towards trialing and in particular the three MCC classic reliability trials. Because the MCC run their year from 1st January to 31st December and MCC Triples and Trios (for clean sheets in all three trials) count towards our championship, our championship will also have to be on a calendar year basis. Competitive events that count are MSA sanctioned events Autosolos, Sprints, Hillclimbs, Autotests, Car Trials (were called PCTs), Classic Trials and Rallies run by other motor clubs but not including awards won at meetings such as the Burford Specials Day, treasure hunts, gymkhanas, etc
The Five Levels of Competition / Use of Dellow
• A. MCC Classic Trials.
• A1. MCC Classic Trial Class O.
• B. ACTC Championship one day classic trials plus some nonchampionship events that incorporate road mileage
• C. One day trials/pcts/single venue Classic Trials/hill climbs/sprints and autotests or autosolos.
• D. Historic rallies such as Rally of the Tests, Le Jog etc.
Scoring
• A. and B. Events. All Register members will automatically score in the A and B events and there is no need to register. Points will be kept by Competition Secretary by results from the internet.
• C. Events. Points will be kept by Competition Secretary by results from the internet.
• D. Events. Points will only be scored if Register members forward results of MSA approved club events either by e-mail or post. If results are available on the internet just advise the A receipt must be obtained from Competition Secretary.
Points
• A events. 2 for Starting, 2 for finishing. Gold or class, 3 pts, Silver 2 pts, bronze 1 pt. Maximum 7.
• A1 events, class O. 2 for Starting, 2 for finishing. Tin 3 pts, Copper 2 points, Max. 7.
• B events. 1 for Starting, 2 for finishing. A competitive award 2 points. Maximum 5.
• C events. 1 for Starting, 1 for finishing. A competitive award 2 points. Maximum 4.
• D events. 2 for Starting, 3 for finishing. A competitive award 2 points. Maximum 7.
